| Barnhall Membership 2007/2008 13th Sept 2007 |
Dear Friend,
A new year in Rugby is about to begin and our club is inviting you to join as a member or to renew your membership.
Our club needs the support of all its friends and members past and present and local companies to undertake its work in the coming year.
We have in excess of 300 junior members (aged from under 7 to 18 years) They participate in Mini, and upwards to J4, J3, J2, J1, Under 20's and Div 2 AIL Senior Teams all of whom need facilities at our club which we are endeavouring to improve year by year. Over the past few years we have renovated much of the club premises but further work remains to be done. We are planning enhancing the kitchen facilities, new toilets and changing rooms.
Membership subscription is the life blood of any Club, be it as a Social Member, Pavilion Member or Family Membership. The rates for these subscriptions are on the attached application form. We particularly invite local individuals and companies in our catchment areas of Lucan, Leixlip, Celbridge and Maynooth to contribute to your local Rugby Club who are providing much needed playing facilities for the youth in these areas.
Please forward your subscription and completed application form to Membership Secretary by Oct 31st if possible.
With your Membership Card you will also received and Club Logo for your car and list of upcoming AIL Division Two fixtures Home and Away for your information.
Please send you Membership Subscription to :

| Niall Mellon Township............... 12th Sept 2007 |
| Irish Townships is a charity set up by Niall Mellon after he experienced the living conditions endured by people in the townships around CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA when he holidayed in that area in 2002. Rather than raise money for handouts, he chose the practical option and so sought volunteers to provide labour and materials to build basic dwellings to relieve some of the hardship. Two Barnhall men have joined the list of volunteers for this years project - JOHN CODY and PADRAIC BEATTY. They are both past Presidents and former players with BARNHALL RFC and are currently members of the executive committee. They must raise a minimum of €4000 each to take part in the project and so are planning a number of fund raising events. Your support would be greatly appreciated. If you cannot attend any of these events perhaps you could help in other ways.
- THURSDAY SEPT 13th QUIZ NIGHT BARNHALL 9pm.
- FRIDAY OCTOBER 5th GRAND DINNER BARNHALL 9pm.
- FRIDAY OCTOBER 13th POKER CLASSIC ST. MARY'S GAA, LEIXLIP 9pm.
Please take the time to read the enclosed information about the townships already involved in the project. More information available on www.irishtownships.com. Some of the accounts of past volunteers make some very interesting reading. Just click on "VOLUNTEERS" and then "TESTIMONIALS" to read some of their accounts in poetry and prose. Advance booking for the dinner is essential as places are limited.
