A.I.L: Head 2 Head 29th of November 2007 |
Clonakilty arrived in the AIBL for the 2001 / 02 season. After five seasons in Division Three they were promoted as champions into Division Two. Barnhall had delayed this promotion for one season by defeating the West Cork club 25-15 in an inter-divisional play-off at Parsonstown in April 2005. Last season ‘Clon' beat Barnhall 22-14 at the Vale. The Munster club has a tremendous AIBL record at home to Leinster clubs. Last season only Old Belvedere, of six visiting Leinster clubs, got a result in the south west . It is an altogether different story however when Clonakilty travel to the eastern province for they have tasted success only three times in 17 AIBL visits. Also, don't forget that Barnhall defeated all three visiting Munster clubs in Leixlip last season |

Under 18's round up 27th of November 2007 |
In the last game of the Leinster League premier section North, Barnhall U18's won away to a dogged Longford team. In a real nip and tuck match, where the lead changed hands several times, the Barnhall side was ultimately too powerful for a gutsy Longford team. Eventually out scoring Longford 5 tries to 2, Barnhall were deserved winners on the day ...more

| A.I.L 2 Young Munster 16 Barnhall 6
19th of November 2007 |
Lashing rain and high winds were always going to dictate the style of play in this keenly contested league encounter in Clifford Park limerick on Saturday last. A large contingent of high spirited Barnhall supporters were not dampened by the weather and much was expected from the impending forward tussle. Young Munster has always had a formidable pack and this year was no exception. Much was expected by the local support of the home team back line that has not conceded a try so far in this league campaign. However it was also clear from the outset that the weather would ensure the scoring opportunities would be few in number ...more |

Under 16s Leinster Premier League North: Barnhall 33 – Navan 24
By Michael Mousley 19th of November 2007 |
Barnhall put in a very courageous display in Parsonstown on Saturday to clinch their 4 th win in 5 league outings. Five tries from the backs were the reward from a wonderfully brave performance from the Blue's pack which gave away 3 or 4 stones a man ...more |
| Head 2 Head Young Munster By Des Daly 15th of November 2007 |
After eleven seasons in Division One Young Munster (A.I.B.L champions in 1992 / 93 ) were relegated into Division Two. In October 2002 Barnhall were the Kookies first opponents in AIBL – 2. The visiting Co. Kildare club were beaten 17-10. On two subsequent trips to Clifford Park, Barnhall have drawn 24-24 (December 2004) and lost 3-18 ( January 2006 ). Truth to be told, Barnhall have yet to record an away victory over Young Munster. Saturday's opponents are one of eight clubs Barnhall will face this season that have soldiered in the top flight at some stage of their AIBL history. |

| Barnhall RFC 11 Dublin University Football Club (Trinity College) 18 12th of November 2007 |
Two moments of madness from the home side gifted the points to a mediocre Trinity college side at Parsonstown on Saturday. Barnhall followed up two solid winning home performances with a narrow defeat at the hands of the students who made amends for a serious thumping that Barnhall had meted out to them in college park last year ...more |
| Mullingar 23 Barnhall 27 12th of November 2007 |
Barnhall continued their unbeaten run in the Leinster League Premier North section with a hard fought win away to the previously unbeaten Mullingar. In blustery conditions Mullingar, with the advantage of the wind behind them and an outside half with dynamite in his boot raced away to a 13 points to nil lead after only 15 minutes of play ...more

Ian Morgan and Tony Smeeth are two very experienced head coaches involved this afternoon. ‘Moggie' is in his ninth and Tony in his tenth AIBL season……soon they may become eligible for pensions ! Barnhall first played AIBL against Trinity in January 2000 and lost 17-19 at College Park ( Division Four ). Two further visits to Dublin 2 followed before ‘The Trin' first appeared at Parsonstown and won 9-5 in AIBL –2 ( March 2004 ). Having won 33-25 away to Trinity last season, Barnhall now entertain the students for only the second time in six AIBL meetings over three divisions. ‘Moggie , who captained Trinity during 1990 / 91, and Colm have promised to pick up the post-match tab this evening, folks. |

| Under 18's 6th of November 2007 |
Boyne arrived at Barnhall with a depleted side for the latest Leinster League fixture for the unbeaten 18's. This meant Barnhall took the points even before a ball was kicked, however with the loan of 3 Barnhall players, Jeff El Demassi, Gerard Oreilly and Andrew Allen the fixture was completed. All 3 Barnhall players who helped Boyne out excelled and were amongst the best Boyne performers on the day and deserve a pat on the back for their sportsmanship ...more

Wanderers were playing their eighth season in Division two when Barnhall were promoted to meet them for the first time during 2001 / 02. The ‘Chaps' visited Co. Kildare that January and were beaten 26-19 with the home club crossing for four tries. Wanderers went on to lose four more games and were eventually relegated into AIBL – 3, where they have competed for the past five long seasons. Wanderers have a 50% success story on the AIBL road in Leinster while Barnhall have enjoyed 64% success at home to other Leinster AIBL clubs. In Pool Four of the Leinster Senior League Cup last September, Barnhall lost 0-11 to Wanderers at Merrion Road. |
| Barnhall 16 Thomond 9 1st of November 2007 |
With the recent history of very close encounters and a very high wind dictating much of the play, both Barnhall and Thomond commenced their first All Ireland league match of the season with caution. Much of the first twenty minutes of this encounter was error strewn and had little flow about the efforts of both teams. Both packs of forwards were formidable in size and in the opening exchanges they tested each others resolve with direct driving runs and the back lines were confined to defensive play ...more |
| Barnhall Under 18's 1st of November 2007 |
Barnhall continued their good run of form with an emphatic win over the English touring side Towcester at Parsonstown on Friday night. On a foggy and cold night it was the Barnhall forwards that dominated posession and ultimately the game. From the 2nd minute a 20 metre driving maul from Barnhall set the picture for the evening ...more |
